BUENA VISTA (WSLS10) - Buena Vista leaders are planning the city's first ever fishing derby. Organizers hope "Fish and Pick" will bring 2,000 people into the area.
The Maury River will be stocked with trout for the event.
"All these great events we have at Glen Maury Park brings thousands of people to Buena Vista," said Parks and Recreation Director Ronnie Coffey. "They got to have food, they got to have gas and so, it's really good for our community because people are coming here to spend money. And, the most important thing is they enjoy Glen Maury Park."
