Police: Roanoke woman faces felony charges after IHOP armed robbery

SALEM (WSLS 10) - Officers with the Salem Police Department arrested a 32-year-old woman after an alleged armed robbery at IHOP on Friday morning.

At about 3:45 a.m., officers responded to the IHOP in the 200 block of N. Electric Road for a reported armed robbery.

Whey they arrived, employees told them an unknown black woman entered the restaurant, walked to the cash register, showed a gun and demanded money.

Police say the clerk complied with the demand and the suspect left the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

There were no injuries related to the incident.

After a subsequent investigation, Shaqueena R. Chambers, of Roanoke, was arrested at about 11 a.m.

Police charged her with robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of an illegal firearm and grand larceny.

Chambers is currently being held in the Roanoke County/Salem Jail without bond and the investigation is ongoing.
