ROANOKE (WSLS10) - Carilion Clinic hosted its ninth annual Research Day on Tuesday.
About 100 doctors, nurses and Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute students presented new research and findings.

The idea of the day is to collaborate and investigate new interests.
"It's through that kind of intellectual discussion that newer ideas come out and people have a chance to talk to each other and stimulate new ideas," said Dr. Frances Dane, the assistant director of research for Carilion Clinic.
Most Research Day presentations eventually result in study publications.
