This year taking the leap is the beloved crew of DIY Network's Salvage Dawgs.

Four of the show's five characters are going over the edge to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

That includes co-owner Mike Whiteside.

"When we're doing charity work it's always nice if we can do something fun. I lived in Colorado for a while and did a lot of rappelling and rock climbing and so I haven't done it in a while, so I was looking for an opportunity to slide down the Patrick Henry," Whiteside explained.

The $1,000 each rappeller raises covers the cost of one big and little match for a year.

The Black Dog crew makes work fun, so there's no doubt they'll also be laughing all the way down the side of the Patrick Henry.
