Three Roanoke City Schools closed Friday due to power outage

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Three Roanoke City Schools will be closed Friday, March 25 due to a power outage.

Round Hill Elementary, Lincoln Terrace Elementary and Noel C. Taylor Learning Academy will not be in class.

All other Roanoke City Schools are on a normal schedule.

Roanoke City Police say the driver of a white minivan crashed into a power pole then left the scene. Officers are currently searching for the driver.

As of 4:35 p.m., Appalachian Power is reporting that no customers in Roanoke City are without power.

The area is shutdown since power poles and lines are in the roadway. They are asking everyone to avoid the area.
