Development plans moving forward for buildings in Roanoke County

ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Development plans are moving forward for three buildings in Roanoke County.

The Board of Supervisors approved sales for the old William Byrd High School, former Cave Spring library, and Roland E. Cook Elementary School.

The county sold the schools for just $10 and developers are turning the schools into apartments.

"It means a lot to the citizens of the community, and it means a lot to the town," says Jill Loope, Roanoke County Economic Development. "It will also means a lot to people who live there and walk there and walk to downtown."

The developer working on the former William Byrd High School also worked on other projects in our area including the Bedford Lofts.
