VCU Pep Band Performs on the "Today Show"

NEW YORK (WSLS 10) - Virginia Commonwealth University's Pep Band is in the Big Apple to crash the Today Show.

In what has become an annual tradition, the "Peppas" are showing off their skills and blasting some popular team songs on top of a decorated double-decker bus outside 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

In 2014, co-host Al Roker climbed on board the bus to dance with the band and VCU mascot Rodney the Ram.

They are keeping Rams fans' spirits high as the basketball team enters the Atlantic 10 tournament.

The Rams are the No. 2 seed.  They take on U-Mass at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

According to its Facebook page, The Peppas, are a nationally renowned group of musicians from Virginia Commonwealth University. They play for both the VCU Men's and Women's Basketball teams at all home games as well as various other school sporting events and events around Richmond.
