Heart Health: CPR saves lives

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - According to the American Heart Association, 88 percent of people who go into sudden cardiac arrest do so at home.

CPR can be used to get the victim's heart beating normally again, yet 70 percent of Americans do not know how to do it.

Studies show that victims who have CPR administered are three times more likely to survive than those who have to wait for help to arrive.

Those who teach CPR say it is easy to learn.

Putting your hands on people and pushing hard and pushing fast is what we want to teach people.  You don't need fancy equipment, you just need your hands.
