BEDFORD COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A Bedford County man is charged with two counts of owning dangerous dogs after they bit two kids and attacked another dog, which died a day later.

According to police, 911 dispatchers received a call around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, reporting a black pit bull attacked another dog on Boonsboro Place. As deputies were responding, dispatchers received a second call reporting a black pit bull and a white pit bull bit two children. When deputies got to the scene, they spoke with the boys who told investigators they saw their dog with the two pit bulls and thought the pets were playing. They said as they got closer the pit bulls bit them. Deputies found the boys' dog on the ground covered in mud. The dog was taken to a near-by animal hospital and the kids were taken to Lynchburg General Hospital where they were treated for their injuries and released.
