Amherst Co. car chase ends in arrest

AMHERST CO. (WSLS 10) - A Lynchburg man was arrested after a car chase in Amherst Co.

According to Amherst Co. Sheriff's Office, Lawrence Crank, 53, sped away from deputies after trespassing at Riveredge Park in Madison Heights around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday. Crank then led officers on an eight mile chase through River Rd. onto Rt. 130 before stopping on Winridge Dr. and running away on foot. He was arrested a short time after. He's been charged with Possession of meth with intent to distribute, Felony Eluding Police, Trespassing, Reckless Driving, Display Fictitious License Plates.

He's being held at the Amherst Adult Detention Facility without bond.
