ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Tickets for Roanoke's beloved Norfolk & Western Class J 611 steam engine went on sale to the public on Monday and they're selling quickly.

According to Walker Nelms, the marketing and public relations coordinator for the Virginia Museum of Transportation, about 70% of seats on the trip to Radford and 60% of the seats to Lynchburg have sold. Nelms warned people shouldn't wait much longer if they want local tickets, otherwise they will have to plan to travel to Greensboro or Northern Virginia to get a chance to ride.
