It was one of 50 stops on this year's tour.   The Spartans finished as the number 86 team in the nation out of more than 15 thousand high school football teams.

Coach Stephen Magenbauer received the Army National Guard ranking trophy, honoring their win over previously undefeated Lake Taylor for the title,

and their spot among the nations elite teams.

"We are very appreciative and very thankful to be recognized by MaxPreps which we follow all year and the things that they do," says a humble Salem Head Coach Stephen Magenbauer.  The 17-14 2OT win delivered Salem its first title in ten years, and it's the third title for Coach Magenbauer in 12 years on the job.

The presentation took place at halftime of the Salem basketball game. The Spartans defeated Pulaski County by a 73-47 score.
