We're told the last big snow storm was back in 1996. This area received about 22-inches of snow. Mac and Bob's in Salem were open then and they plan to remain open now. In fact, in the last 35-years the restaurant has never closed due to weather!

Management said they are prepared and fully stocked for about a week's time. An early morning food delivery made it just before the storm on Friday.

However, management further comment they are running on a skeleton crew as many workers are stuck in rural and residential areas where the streets are not safe to travel.

"If they can walk down, they can walk down," said Bob Rotanz, Mac and Bob's owner. "It kind of makes you feel good that we've be around as long as we've been around. And, there are plenty of stories about the old days when there's a storm at Mac and Bob's."

Worker who live closer are dedicated to keep the restaurant open for business. Restaurant management said they plan to stay open over the weekend.
