(WSLS 10) - Chick-fil-A makes changes to its menu starting Monday. The company introduces a super-food side salad of kale, broccoli, dried cherries and roasted nuts. A small portion of the kale salad is 140 calories while the larger portion has 170 calories. Starting Monday, you will not be able to order cole slaw. It removed the dish from its menu after 50 years.

Donald Trump will speak Monday at Liberty University. The presidential hopeful will speak at the university's first convocation of the year. His last visit to Liberty was in 2012 when his convocation speech was broadcast to a record audience. University President Jerry Falwell Jr. says the event is open to the public. Other candidates to visit the university recently include Ted Cruz, Bernie Sanders and Ben Carson.

Students and staff with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine will volunteer in the community Monday. They will work with Renovation Alliance on a couple of home renovation projects like painting, fixture installation and wall repair. This is the second year the school has worked in the community as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Lynchburg Community Council holds its annual MLK Day Birthday Breakfast. The theme of this year's event is Encouraging Global Civil Rights and Freedom for Humanity. Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Rosalyn Thompson-Blackwell will be the keynote speaker.

The second part of the Commonwealth Education Poll will be released Monday. Data released today will focus on higher education, campus safety and career preparation in high schools. The Commonwealth Educational Policy Institute at Virginia Commonwealth University conducts the poll.

The Campbell County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program hosts its first ever Senior to Senior event Monday as part of MLK Service Day. The Youth Advisory Council and high school students will teach old adults how to use electronic devices. The Senior Advisory Committee and older adults will teach the students how to live without technology by showing skills like canning, gardening and sewing.

Physician Assistant students at Jefferson College of Health Sciences are holding a Gear Drive starting Monday. They are looking for clothing that covers exposed parts of the body like hands, ears and feet. The students will accept donations through February 1st. You can drop this off Jefferson College located inside Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital. All items benefit the Roanoke Homeless Assistance Team.
