ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Angels of Assisi is looking to give 27 dogs forever homes.

The non-profit organization received the dogs Monday from the Alleghany Humane Society. The dogs were rescued from a small home and had never been outside before.

They vary in age from 16-weeks-old to 6-years-old and include husky mixes, shepherd mixes and rottweiler mixes.

Matthew Brown, the adoption center director at Angels of Assisi, said the organization started vaccinating the dogs Monday and will start accepting adoption applications Tuesday.

Brown says people need to keep in mind these dogs will require special attention since they're not leash trained or socialized.

If you're interested in giving one of the dogs a forever home, Angels of Assisi is open everyday from 12 P.M. to 6 P.M.
