LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - The Virginia Department of Transportation will host a "pardon our dust" meeting on a project to widen a section of Greenview Drive near Leesville Road from two to four lanes.

The public can stop by between 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 21 at the Ramey Memorial Auditorium, VDOT District Complex, at 4303 Campbell Avenue in Lynchburg.

In an open house format, staff will answer questions and provide information about construction phasing and traffic impacts during the project.

VDOT says traffic will be maintained along Greenview Drive and Airport Road throughout construction.

Leesville Road will be widened with temporary pavement to maintain through/right and left turn lanes during construction and to minimize potential closure periods. Short duration closures on each leg of Leesville Road with temporary detours may be required to complete grading work and paving within the intersection.

Work is expected to begin in February 2016 and be completed by June 26, 2017.
