DRAPER (WSLS 10) - A Pulaski County school that has been vacant for more than 11 years will soon be full of life once again.

The old Draper Elementary School was completely torn down last week. Plans are now underway to turn that land into a community park.

The space will include basketball courts, picnic shelters, walking trails and a playground.

The county will pay for the project with the nearly $350,000 of insurance money it collected from tornado damage to the school back in 2011.

Construction is set to start in the spring, and the goal is to finish the park by the end of 2016.
