FRANKLIN COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Lieutenant Phillip Young is a recent graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico.
The FBI selected the Franklin County Sheriff's office to send a representative and Lieutenant Young was chosen.

It's a huge honor since less than half of one percent of law enforcement members get to attend the program.
Young spent 10 weeks in the academy and went through intense physical training.
"I'm not as young as I used to be so the physical training was definitely top notch physical training," said Young. "It was cross fit, there were circuits, and they pushed us."
Young shares a lot of memories of the academy with Sheriff Bill Overton.
Overton was the last person in the sheriff's office to be accepted in the academy in 1989.
He like Young even completed one of the most grueling physical challenges called the Yellow Brick Road.
"Everybody enters the academy thinking I don't know if I can do this like everything else you push yourself, and you feel so accomplished at the end of the time period," said Sheriff Overton.
Young said he learned so much in those 10 weeks and is incorporating it in new initiatives for the sheriff's office.
He also said he made friends with people in his class from around the world and will take his connections to find ways to help in his role with the sheriff's office.
