VIRGINIA (WSLS 10) -A new record was set on the Appalachian Trail Sunday, December 27th, 2015.
Niki Rellon became the first female leg amputee to complete a thru-hike of the 2,100 trail.

Rellon's journey started in March.
During the trip, she suffered some setbacks involving her prosthetic leg and even got frostbite.
The former triathlete says she plans on writing a book next.
