ROANOKE (WSLS10) – Christmas is over but shopping continues as bargain hunters search for after Christmas sales.

Some people shopped in Downtown Roanoke on Saturday. Vendors at the Flea Market said they normally see a rush after 12 p.m..

The manager at Walkabout Outfitter said on average they get a 20% to 30% increase in sales around Christmas.

He said he thinks the reason is more people shopping locally.

“Instead of trying to coming to try something on locally and shop online, they’re doing the opposite they’re researching online and coming into to shop locally because they know more about it and they want that customer service, it feels really good, we live off of customer service our customers are important,” Tim Pohlad-Thomas, the manger at Walkabout Outfitter said.
