ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - A Christmas Eve tradition continues tonight in Buchanan. The downtown streets are lined each Christmas Eve with hundreds of luminaries to bring in Christmas. Dozens of volunteers recreate the display by lining Main Street with luminaries made from milk jugs collected by people in the area. Volunteers start setting up at 3 p.m. and light the luminaries at 6PM.

Meet for a quick run or walk on the Roanoke Greenway under the Memorial Bridge near Black Dog Salvage. A group will run or walk one or three miles. There's not a timer, it's just a fun run! Santa might bring some candy canes, cookies and cider. Bring the whole family for a social workout before Santa comes to your house. It starts today at noon.

It's a big day for a local couple as they get married at The Hotel Roanoke. Morgan Reynolds and Matt Williams originally moved to the area for Matt to compete graduate school at Hollins University but fell in love with the area and decided to stay. They will get married in front one of the trees at the hotel. The Festival of Trees raises money for the United Way and it's a holiday tradition for many of us to see the trees. They chose this very public display to show their love for their new community and help raise awareness for the United Way fundraiser.

Christmas comes early for Beatles fans. The band will join music streaming services including Apple Music and Spotify today according to RE Code Reports, meaning free versions of the band's music will be available to everyone.
