ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Roanoke has some pretty amazing Christmas light displays around town, and we're highlighting some of the best.

Terry Reed and Peter Archie both own homes in the same neighborhood off Colony Lane in Roanoke and have some of the biggest displays around.

Each of their homes features close to 40,000 lights.

When WSLS 10 asked what keeps them spending more than 100 hours every year putting up the displays, they each say it's the people that come to watch.

"A lot of the time you find people at work and other people say 'well are you going to put your Christmas lights up this year?' And it's been amazing really how many people we really realize do come and look at it," said Reed.

"I'm glad to see them come out, I'm glad to see them bring their kids out and let them get out and look at it and they have a, they say the kids seem to get a big kick out of it, and that's probably the other big reason that I do it. It's not so much for the adults, it's for the kids to come by and get a look at it," said Archie.

Reed says he's been growing his display for more than 20 years.

Archie says he's been working on his for eight years, and this year has synced the lights to music.
