ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - For the first time in more than 30 years, you can enter at the north entrance of Roanoke city's municipal building.

That part of the building was closed off to make office space for social services and later human resources.

Along with a new door, the entire lobby area has been renovated.

City staff preserved some architectural features from when the building first opened 100 years ago.

"This is something I wanted to do since I got here," says Chris Morrill, city manager. "Once we were able to figure out how to make this happen I'm excited to reopen this building."
