Day seven of the WSLS 10 Home for the Holidays build came with help from more than a dozen employees from the Bank of Botetourt.

“Working with them every day inside the bank is a good thing but outside the bank you get to see them in different facets so it’s a lot of fun. We get to pick on each other. We just have a good time doing something for somebody,” said Marcus Wade, a volunteer from the Bank of Botetourt.

Wade spent the morning putting the finishing touches on the front porch and enjoys giving back to the community.

“It means the world to us. Especially me. Some of us are blessed especially this time of year and to do something for somebody else really means a lot,” said Wade.

While at the back of the house, volunteers finish installing the vinyl siding trying to get the house ready for inspection.

Inside, the walls are up and plastering continues upstairs before trim can be installed.

“We’re hooking up the heating and air system, tying in the outdoor unit,” said Timothy Roark, a Bower Heating and Air Mechanic. “Building the community back I think is nice. Improving, trying to put somebody in a home that they probably deserve.”
