BOONES MILL (WSLS 10) - A Franklin County town has a little extra Christmas spirit this year thanks to a local elementary school and a neighboring town.

Each class at Boones Mill Elementary School decorated green pine wreathes that were donated to the town from the town of Rocky Mount.

Each wreath has it's own theme and is hung in a special location across town. It's the first year the town has had decorations.

Town Manager Matt Lawless says they received lighted wreaths to hang along the streets as well. AEP also gave them a discounted rate to install the pieces.

The decorated wreaths made by the children can be found at various businesses throughout the town.

"It's just really great that the kids could get involved and the elementary school took the time to do it. It really looks great," Lawless said.
