Virginia Tech reaching out to students, families affected by bus crash

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - Early Sunday evening, one of two buses carrying Virginia Tech students, as well as students from other area colleges and universities back to their respective campuses following Thanksgiving break, was involved in an accident near Richmond.

According the bus operator, 37 Virginia Tech students were traveling on these buses. During the night and into Monday, Virginia Tech's Student Advocacy team has been in contact with many of these students and their families.

The Division of Student Affairs continues to work to help all students and families affected by the accident to receive the care they need and to assist them as they return to campus and the classroom.

Students and families affected by this accident should contact the Dean of Students Office at dean.students@vt.edu or 540 231-3787 for assistance. Students are also welcome to visit the office in 109 East Eggleston Hall; no appointment is needed.

Virginia Tech extends its support and assistance to other students, friends, and roommates who may have been affected by this event.
