Roanoke police investigating shooting on Melrose Ave.

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Roanoke police are investigating a shooting that happened Saturday morning.

Police said the victim, Jonathan Michael Faulks, 26, of Roanoke, came into the emergency room at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital around 11:48 a.m. Saturday.

Police said Faulks was suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Investigators determined the crime scene was at the corner of 35th and Melrose.

Authorities said the incident occurred outdoors at approximately 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Detectives have obtained warrants on Bernard Demetrius Alexander, 44, of Roanoke and Rahmyene Shreef Jones, 32, of Roanoke.

Alexander is charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Jones is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
