ABINGDON ( WSLS 10) - A Richlands nurse practitioner pleads guilty Tuesday after illegally prescribing Oxcydone pills.

Gloria W. "Faye" Kennedy, 51, was a licensed family nurse practitioner who illegally prescribed 3,780 pills if 15 milligrams if Oxycodone to her husband and to others.

Kennedy's sentencing hearing is set for March 22, 2016. She is facing up to 25 years in prison.

Her husband, Darrell Lynn Wells also plead guilty to conspiring to illegally distribute controlled substances.

He faces up to 20 years in prison.

The investigation of the case was conducted by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency Tactical Diversion Squad, with the assistance of the Virginia Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, Virginia State Police, and Tazewell Regional Drug Task Force.
