(WSLS 10) - A hearing is scheduled in Danville today in the case of a man who died in police custody in South Boston. Linwood Lambert's sister Gwendolyn Smalls is suing the town and its Police Department. In a hearing last week, working was removed from the lawsuit that made comparisons of racial bias as well as the word murder. According to court documents, Lambert was tased multiple times by police while being taken to the hospital. According to Lambert's autopsy, he died of acute cocaine overdose.

Roanoke City Councilman Sherman Lea will provide an update today about his decision to run for mayor. Current Mayor David Bowers announced earlier this month that he would not seek re-election. Voters select the new mayor in May.

Click It or Ticket mini-mobilization begins today in Christiansburg. Police will increase patrols to enforce seat belt laws. The goal is to reinforce the importance of seal belt usage and reduce the number of injuries and fatalities for those involved in an accident.

Professional hockey returns to Roanoke next year. The team will unveil its name and logo tonight at six. The team will be part of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

Virginia Tech students, faculty and the community will hear important ideas today at the fourth annual TEDxVirginiaTech. The idea behind Ted Talks is giving people the chance to hear speakers with big ideas. The theme of this year's event is Kaleidoscope.
