MONETA (WSLS SPORTS) -  It was a big day at Staunton River High School as student athletes signed letters of intent. The Golden Eagles baseball and softball teams will be represented at the next level next year. Taylor Creasey and Kelsy Padgett of the softball team are both headed to UVa-Wise. Jake Divers will play baseball for Concord University in West Virginia, while Spencer Hoyt will play at King University. All athletes are excited for the opportunity to continue their careers.

"I'm honestly so blessed to be able to play the game I love for the next four years," said Creasey.

Padgett added, "here in Stanton River usually we get looked at as the underdogs, so it's really cool to see our name and actually go somewhere."

Diver looks forward to tougher competition, "you know it's better ball, it's better pitching, everything. And you know it's the next level so you have to come ready to play," he said.

"It's definitely great when you get there, it's definitely worth all the training and hard work I just makes college great."
