The event organizer says the most special part of the event this year will be the recognition of two soldiers, years after they left conflict.

"Two brothers, the Dixon brothers, Chris and Robert, will be awarded the bronze star. They are World War II veterans. The award is coming a little late, things like this sometimes slip through the cracks, but Congressman Goodlatte was fortunately able to get these guys the medals they deserve," said Martin Leamy, memorial facilities director.

Also at Wednesday's event is guest speaker and author Alex Kershaw, who hosting a book signing afterwards.
