Round Town: Lots of chili

(WSLS 10) - Head to downtown Roanoke on Saturday as we take time to honor Veterans. The annual Virginia's Veterans Parade starts at 11 a.m. Saturday. If you can't make it to the parade, you can watch it live on WSLS 10.

You can enjoy a day of fun, food and entertainment at Smith Mountain Lake Saturday at the 13th annual SML Fall Chili and Craft Festival. Five dollars gets you in to taste the chili. There will also be dozens of vendors. Gates open at 11 a.m. with the chili being served starting at noon at Bridgewater Plaza.

The Salem Civic Center hosts Brew-HaHa. It's the valley's only indoor craft beer and comedy festival. Enjoy an open mic contest, comedy show featuring six comedians and beer tastings from 20 craft breweries as well as domestic products. Admission starts at $10. The event runs from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.

The Danville Family YMCA holds its annual 5K Run, Fun Run and Pancake Breakfast. Proceeds from the events support the Y's Youth Fund. Breakfast tickets are $5 with the Fun Run costing $10 and the 5K $15. Events get underway at 7 a.m. Saturday.

Holy Cross Regional Catholic School in Lynchburg holds its annual Fall Festival and Chili Cook-off. Eighteen teams will cook for bragging rights as Chili King or Queen. There will also be a lives blues band, kids activities and other food. It's Saturday from noon to four at the school.
