Montgomery County school superintendent search narrows

CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS 10) - The Montgomery County School Board narrowed its search for the next superintendent down to three finalists.

Starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, each candidate will get an hour to address the audience and answer questions. Those finalists are Doctor Mark Miear, Doctor Tony Lake and Doctor Kevin Sears.

Miear is currently the assistant superintendent for Winchester Public Schools.

Lake is the executive director of school administration in Overland Park, Kansas.

Sears is the Christiansburg High School principal.

After the forum, those in attendance will fill out a survey which will be considered by the school board as they begin deliberations.

The new hire is scheduled to be announced at the November 17th school board meeting.
