Amanda Taylor is accused of stabbing her father-in-law, Charles Taylor, to death in April.

During her pre-trial hearing Wednesday, the defense team asked that the judge forbid the prosecution to mention the five additional federal charges she faces. The judge denied the motion, saying that would be addressed during next week's trial.

The defense also said this would usually be a situation where it would request a change of venue, but it strategically decided not to. The commonwealth responded by saying most of the publicity surrounding this case has been generated by Taylor herself.

The defense is also still waiting on medical records from a mental hospital where Taylor received treatment. They hope to use those in her defense.

Taylor was disruptive through much of the proceeding. She yelled out to someone in the crowd that she loved them. She also yelled at deputies to stop blocking her view.

Taylor's trial is set for next Thursday and Friday. Sean Ball, who is accused of being her accomplice, is also charged with murder.
