Angels of Assisi is helping the Humane Society of Raleigh County which reached its capacity after taking some of the dogs.

Right now there are about 20 dogs up for adoption but Angels of Assisi is expecting more to come in.

"We're taking care of them, assessing all of their medical needs," says Lisa O'Neill, Angels of Assisi. "A lot of them are underweight which means we'll be tracking their weights daily, feeding them a certain amount each day, and making sure they get the proper nutrition."
