While football takes center stage the focus remains on the scholarships in memory of alumni who have passed over the last 20 years.

Brooke Ward says it's hard to hear three more people were added to that list this year.

"It's people that are 30 years old, 40 years, 20 years old, gone before their time, so it's really important that we take time to remember those classmates and pay tribute to them," Ward explained.

While the teams hope to up the points on the board, organizers added even more money to this year's scholarships from $2,500 to $3,500 apiece.

If you're interested in watching the alumni game it's Saturday October 17th at James River High School at 1 p.m.

Tickets are $5 at the door and Kids five and under get in for free.
