ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - New signs are up along the Greenway in Roanoke to remind people to lock their car doors.
Several signs are up as a reminder to "park smart" and carry your valuables.

There are about a dozen signs put up around what Parks and Recreation call hot spots in the city.
"Over the summer we've had a few and throughout the city, generally the southeast area, and some officers took the initiative to try to create a sign to be generally aware of that," said Officer Joshua Johnson, Roanoke City Police.
Roanoke police said to keep your purses, wallets, phones, computers, and much more out of plain sight.
