BEDFORD COUNTY (WSLS 10) -- Basic law enforcement graduates in Bedford County are getting a pay raise.

Sheriff Mike Brown says all deputies who graduate from the 26 week basic law enforcement academy will receive a $1,800 salary increase. This means those graduates will now earn a salary of $32,809. The salary change was made possible after the Board of Supervisors voted in favor of the increase Tuesday night.
