According to police testimony, she admitted to killing Charles with the help of her friend, Sean Ball.

Charles Taylor was found dead in his home with multiple stab wounds and blunt force injuries to his head and arm.

He was found on a sofa, where Amanda told police she stood over him and stabbed him multiple times after they discussed her deceased husband, Rex. Charles Taylor was the father of her ex, who committed suicide last August.

Police say Taylor and Ball went to the victim's home with the intention of killing him. The two had purchased a knife and a crowbar. A gun and tire iron were also later recovered.

Police say after the killing, Taylor and Ball took money from Charles' wallet and began traveling to North Carolina.

Investigators say Taylor later injured Ball on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville.

First-degree murder carries a sentence of 20 years to life in prison.
