Virginia Tech, local high schools delay games due to weather

(WSLS 10) - Many football games, including the Virginia Tech football game against N.C. State, were being delayed due to rain moving through the area.

In a Facebook Post, Virginia Tech Police said gates would open at 7:45 p.m.

The William Fleming vs William Byrd game was postponed until 2 p.m. Saturday.

Carroll County's game against Hidden Valley High at Bogle Field was delayed after the first quarter for rain. The game was scoreless so far.

Also, the high school match-up between Lord Botetourt High School and Alleghany County High Schools was delayed due to rain.

The Grayson County and Graham game was delayed until 7:30 p.m.

The WSLS Storm Team 10 said a heavy line of rain was moving across southwest Virginia early Friday evening.
