Georgia woman believed to have drowned her two children

WSAV – SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - Savannah Chatham Metro Police are investigating the deaths of two children Tuesday. Authorities said they think the children were drowned by their mother.

It's believed that a woman called police saying she had drowned her children. Officers were called there just after 12:30 Tuesday afternoon. Authorities were gathered at an address where the incident was said to have happened.

Authorities say that was after 26 year old Jokeera Morgan called 911 stating that she had drowned her two daughters, both under the age of two. Police say officers who responded to the call found the children inside the hone and began performing CPR. The children were transported by ambulance to Memorial University Medical Center but were later pronounced dead.

Morgan was arrested by Metro police and is charged with two counts of murder.

Police said the investigation was ongoing and that they were coordinating with Division of Family and Children Services and the Chatham County District Attorney's Office. Local reporters were told Morgan is the mother of two other children who were not home when the incident happened.
