Lynchburg trails re-open , suicidal person found

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Lynchburg police have found the person they were looking for who was said to be suicidal on the Lynchburg Trail System.

Police dispatchers said Holy Cross school was on lock-down as a precaution Monday afternoon, but the lock-down was lifted sometime before 3:30 p.m. Officers were still searching for the person, who was described in a Facebook post from the Lynchburg Police Department as "a possible suicidal subject."

The post continued to say the subject was a white male, bald with blue eyes. He was possibly driving a 2001 Dodge Ram truck with Virginia tag VGX6691. The subject may be armed and has threatened to hurt himself. Police said if anyone sees this person, call 911 and do not approach him.

Lynchburg Parks and Recreation also posted information about the incident on Facebook, saying several trails were closed due to a safety concern.
