DUBLIN (WSLS 10) - The Pulaski County Animal Shelter has been a busy place this summer. That is why they are asking for the community's help.

The shelter is designed to hold up to 134 animals at the most. At some points last month, there were 140 dogs and cats inside. One week, the facility took in 28 cats in one day.

Although workers do their best to transfer pets to no-kill shelters, unfortunately there is not always room for all of them. The workers say a failure to spay and neuter is responsible for much of the overcrowding.

Workers say one cat can have up to 60 kittens in one year. To see adoptable pets at the shelter, click here.
