BLACKSBURG (WSLS) - Local families go behind the scenes as Virginia Tech hits the field against Furman.
Special Spectators, a national volunteer group, gave the families of four local sick children quite a Saturday. The kids met with Coach Frank Beamer, the Hokie bird, players and cheerleaders before kick-off.

The non-profit works with area children's hospitals to give patients an unforgettable sporting experience. This is the 5th year Special Spectators partnered with Virginia Tech.
