Roanoke City Schools asking for help for homeless students

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - More homeless kids are going to school in Roanoke City than at this time last year.

The schools have identified 220 homeless students, 53 more than this time last year.

Roanoke City Schools say they ended the school year with more than 600 homeless students and there are strong indications those numbers will increase this year.

There are ways you can help by donating supplies needed on a regular basis like new towels, socks and underwear, soap and toothpaste.
