LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - From Monday, September 14 through Friday, September 18, the Blackwater Creek Bikeway section of the James River Heritage Trail System will be closed from the East Randolph Place Entrance (near the 1.0 Mile Marker) to the four-way trail intersection just beyond the decked trestle crossing the Blackwater Creek (near the 2.0 Mile Marker) from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., each day.

During this time, a Lynchburg Parks and Recreation contractor will be performing cleaning, asphalt crack repair, and overlay work on the trail as part of a continuing effort to keep Lynchburg's trails safe and well maintained.

During the construction period the East Randolph Place parking lot will be closed to trail users to allow the contractor access to the work site and as a laydown area for equipment and materials.

Trail users should exercise caution and obey all signage; including any restricted areas designated by flagging or signs. Other portions of the Blackwater Creek Bikeway, including the section from the Ed Page Entrance to East Randolph Place, will remain open for the duration of the maintenance project.
