UPDATE: Three people shot following dispute between neighbors on Bent Mountain

BENT MOUNTAIN (WSLS) - Roanoke County police are investigating a shooting on Bent Mountain. According to authorities, Michael Nance and Keith Nance, who are brothers, face charges including attempted malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.According to Roanoke County Public Information Officer, Amy Whitaker, the shooting happened around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday. Whitaker said the incident took place near the 1000 block of Slings Gap Road.

Authorities said a dispute between neighbors, possibly over a dog, led to shots fired. When police arrived on the scene, officers found three people shot, no fatalities.

Virginia State Police and other agencies are assisting Roanoke County in the matter. Whitaker said, the dispute could possibly be over a dog but no animals were harmed.

Roanoke County authorities said two suspects were arrested in connection with the shooting. The men could face charges including attempted malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Additional charges are pending.
