(WSLS 10) - The Maury Express transportation system offers free travel today and every Friday in September. It is a deviated fixed route service serving Lexington and Buena Vista. The bus service operates weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The normal fare is .50 with college students riding free with a student ID.

The Riner Volunteer Rescue Squad holds its annual golf tournament on Friday. There will be morning and afternoon rounds. Awards will be given out including a new car to anyone who scores a hole in on one on the 17th hole. It starts at 8 a.m. at the Auburn Hills Golf Club.

Virginia Tech holds a faculty focus group Friday about Title Nine. It prohibits sexual harassment and sexual violence at any school that receives federal financial assistance. The focus group, as well as an upcoming survey, will give the university information for addressing sexual violence on campus.

Virginia Tech holds Gobblerfest 2015. It's an annual event that shows new and returning students what's available for them to do. Student clubs and organizations as well as area businesses and academic departments will be there to talk about what their groups have to offer students. It's from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the Drillfield.
