New toys from latest ‘Star Wars' movie hit shelves across the U.S.

WKRN – MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Friday was the first day "Star Wars" fans got their hands on the saga's new toys in anticipation of the new movie, "The Force Awakens."

"Force Friday" brought fans of all ages to stores like Toys "R" Us and Walmart, who opened their doors at Midnight for the toy release.

In the words of Luke Skywalker, there was more wealth than you can imagine. From Chewbacca and Darth Vader backpacks to board games, the new line of toys had everything .

Those who have been fans since the beginning took the opportunity to stock up on collector's items rather than unboxing them to play with.

The countdown is now on to the "The Force Awakens" which comes out in theaters on December 18.
