PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A Pittsylvania County man is facing multiple charges after he reportedly ran from police with a firearm while deputies were responding to a disturbance call.
The incident happened around 11:27 p.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 1300 block of Mill Creek road in Pittsylvania County.

Upon arrival, deputies saw a man, later identified as Jacob Thomas Marshall, 22, flee into a wooded area armed with a firearm.
One shot was fired by Marshall, deputies say. No one was injured, and it's unclear at this time who or what Marshall was firing upon.
The Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office Crisis Negotiation Team, along with Special Weapons and Tactical Team, Pittsylvania County K-9 Unit, Sheriff's Office Investigators along with, Virginia State Police search helicopter all responded to the area.
The Sheriff's Office says they were in constant communications with the Pittsylvania County School Interim Superintendent Dr. Lillian Holland during this event to insure students boarding buses in the search area were safe during the transit time. Deputies in both marked and unmarked vehicles were assigned to bus routes to monitor the boarding of students.
The Pittsylvania County 911 center also sent out a telephone emergency notification to all households during this time in the search area, to alert residents of the incident. A similar notification was also made to residents of the affected area by the Pittsylvania County School system.
At approximately 7:50 a.m. Wednesday Marshall was located near the Mt. Olivet church off Mt. Cross road and was arrested without incident. He is charged with domestic assault and battery and violation of protective order. A firearm was also recovered.
At this time police say no bond has been established. Marshall's first court appearance has not yet been set.
